<p>This sword is on my Space Marine Lieutenant for my Iron Templars. I kitbashed this model form Ragnar and some other parts. I used this model because I like to equip my Space Marine Lieutenant with a Teeth of Terra.<br><br>Good luck and Happy Crafting</p>

Base coat the sword with Abaddon Black and drybrush with Leadbelcher.


Citadel Abaddon Black

Citadel Leadbelcher

Paint a couple of thin layer with Baneblade Brown all over the blade.

Paint 70% of the top of the blade with Karak Stone. Paint with very wet paint creating a gradient.




Citadel Karak Stone

Paint 50% of the top of the balde with a 1:1 mix of Karak Stone and Pallid Wych Flesh. Paint again with very wet paint creating a gradient. continue with pure Pallid Wych Flesh only the top 25% of the blade.




Citadel Pallid Wych Flesh

Free hand the "Terra" letters on the blade. I use a fineliner 0.05 for the basics and then go over it with Abaddon Black.




Free hand some symbols, big letters and text. Again using the fineliner and a brush for the red with Khorne Red paint.




Citadel Khorne Red

Highlight the edge of the blade with Pallid Wych Flesh. Shade the bottom and the top screw with Agrax Earthshade. Creating more contrast.

Paint scratches and damages on the edge on the blade and some in the middle with Rhinox Hide. Create the illusion of a highlight on the battle damages with Pallid Wych Flesh.

Bring all the color together by painting the whole sword with Lahmian medium. Painted the other details on this step so you can see the final effect.
