<p>I have painted the Thorns of the Briar Queen warband from Underworld. Making some fun tutorials along the way. Here is a example of a rusty chainmail. This technique is very simple but look so good!</p><p>Good luck and Happy crafting.</p>

Rusty Chainmail

Base coat the chainmail with Abaddon Black and then with Rhinox Hide.


Citadel Abaddon Black

Citadel Rhinox Hide

Paint a gradient with a 1:1 mix of Mournfang Brown and water. Start in the middle and stoke to the bottom of the chainmail.




Citadel Mournfang Brown

Paint a gradient with a 1:1 mix of Wild Rider Red and water. Start in the middle of the Mournfang brown and stroke to the bottom of the chainmail.




Citadel Wild Rider Red

Continue with the gradient by painting the top of the chainmail with 1:1 mix of Abaddon Black and water.




Drybrush the chainmail with Leadbelcher.
