Primaris Techmarine

Base coat the model with Abaddon Black or Chaos Black Spray. Paint all the part you want metal with Leadbelcher and drybush all the metal parts with Ironbreaker and then with Runefang Steel.

Paint some of the metal part with Balthasar Gold. Then make a 1:2 mix with Lahmian medium and Contrast Black Templar. Shade all the metal parts with the mix.

Paint all the red panels with Mephiston Red. Use multiple thin coats.

Shade all the edges of all the panels with Khorne Red. You almost don\`t see them but this step is really important. Also paint a gradient on 30% of the bottom of each pandel.

Shade all the edges of all the panels with a 1:1 mix of Incubi Darkness and Khorne Red. Also paint a gradient on 20% of the bottom of each pandel.

Add Abaddon black to the mix then shade the deepest edges of the panels with that mix.


This is the most important part, so take your time. Paint a gradient on the top 50% of each panel with a mix of 1:2 Evil Sunz Scarlet and water. Then highlight all the panels also with Evil Sunz Scarlet.

Paint a gradient on the top 25% of each panel with a 1:2 mix of Troll Slayer Orange and water. Then highlight all the panels also with Troll Slayer Orange.

Highlight all the panels with a 1:1 mix of Troll Slayer Orange and Lugganath Orange. Then paint a dot highlight with Lugganath Orange.

The trick with black is to keep it black. Don\`t drybrush or anything just highlight. First we highlight all the edges of the Servo-arm with Eshin Grey.

The second highlight we only paint the top 50% of all the edges with Dawnstone.

The third highlight we only paint the top 10% of all the edges with Administratum Grey.

Base coat all the leather pouches Rhinox Hide.

Highlight the the leather pouches with a mix of Rhinox Hide and Krakak Stone 1:1. Paint some scratch damage on the leather with the same 1:1 mix.

Highlight the leather pouches with Krakak Stone. Paint all the Iron details with Leadbelcher. Shade the leather pouches with Agrax Earthshade.

Citadel Caliban Green

Paint a gradient with Warpstone Glow covering 70% of the lenses. Use wet paint and stroke towards the nose of the marine.

Then paint a gradient with Warboss Green covering 50% of the lenses.

Paint a gradient with Skarsnik Green covering 30% of the lenses.Then paint a really small gradient with a 1:1 mix of Skarsnik Green and Yriel Yellow.

Paint to a dot with Yriel Yellow in the corner of the eyse next to the nose.


Paint two dots with White Scare in the dark corner of the eyse next to the ears.

Paint a gradient on the serrated edge with wet Thunderhawk Blue.

Paint a gradient on the serrated edge with wet Sotek Green. But keep 50% of step 3 clean of paint.

Highlight all the edges with Temple Guard Blue. The serrated edges with Baharroth Blue and a dot highlight on every corner of each teeth with Blue Horror.

Make a 1:1 mix of Kantor Blue and Abaddon Black. Paint the opposite of the light part with the wet mix. This way we make a nice gradient on the blade of the axe. Then paint all the blue with a layer of Lahmian Medium to gif them all a nice finish.


Paint the adeptus symbol witch Abaddon Black. Then paint half of the skull and circle with Mechanicus Standard Grey.

Paint alf of the skull and circle with Corax White. Highlight the black parts with with Mechanicus Standard Grey.

Shade the white with Nuln Oil and highlight with White Scar. Highlight the black parts for 50% with Administratum Grey.

Paint the handle of the Axe with Mechanicus Standard Grey.


Drybrush the grey with Administratum Grey.


Make a 1:2 mix with Lahmian medium and Contrast Black Templar and shade the handle.


Glue some small gravel with a few bigger gravel on the base with PVA glue.


Base coat the base with Corvus Black and the Iron with Leadbelcher.

Drybrush the iron with Ironbreaker and Runefang Steel.


Paint some rust with orange pigment around the screws and scratches. Pain the bigger gravel with Eshin Grey. Then drybrush the whole base with Eshin Grey. Drybrush the whole base with Dawnstone.


Vallejo Paints Pigment Old Rust

Paint a fine dry brush over the whole base with Administratum Grey. Then paint a fine highlight just on the bigger gravel with Administratum Grey.


I first glued on some flower tufts. Then I glued some grass on the base. Paint the edges of the base with Abaddon Black.
