Gold NMM on Stormcast

The palette is shown just to notice that in the last part i use some contrast paints to finalize the secondary orange reflections and some touch of yellows even a little bit of ak off white to extreme highlights.

Colour used:

Vallejo Black red  
Vallejo chocolete brown  
ak british khaki  
ak ochre  
vallejo scroufulus brown  
ak golden yellow  
ak basic skin tone  
contrast Gryph hound orange  
contrast Ironjawz yellow  
ak off white


I paint 3 layers of black red vallejo as a solid base.

I mix equal parts chocolate and khaki and start to represent the first reflections of light.

I create a glaze with the very diluted base color and I integrate this first reflection on the base.


I resume the previously created mixed color and continue to improve the light by gradually adding a little ocher.

Use a general glaze of contrast Ironjawz yellow to integrate everything.


Citadel Contrast Ironjawz Yellow

I'm going to use some ocher mixed with white to create some random cracks and scratches.

To integrate the signs of wear just created, I will create two types of glazes, in the shadows with the base color and for the parts in reflection I will use ocher adding a drop of yellow contrast.


To make the metal warmer and more interesting I thought of adding a secondary orange (with contrast color) reflection diametrically opposite to the main light area.

Time to outline everything with black and create more contrast.

From here on the steps are the same on the whole figure the metal/gold can be made smooth to your taste ..greater effort, better the result will be.
