Hi there, I always get a lot of questions about painting black armor. The first think to remember is to keep most of the thing your painting black. Focus only on the highlights. There are color sets you can highlight black with. This on is with grey colors really good for a neutral look. Good luck and happy crafting.

Black Power Armor (grey)

Paint the armor black with Abaddon Black. 2 Coats and the black should look mat. You can do the first layer with a spray but always make sure your second layer is Abaddon black.




Citadel Abaddon Black

So the trick with black is to keep it black. Don\`t drybrush or anything just highlight. First we highlight all the edges with Eshin Grey.

The second highlight we only paint the top 50% of all the edges with Dawnstone.

The third highlight we only paint the top 10% of all the edges with Administratum Grey.


Citadel Administratum Grey

The last step is a dot highlight with a 50/50 mix of Administratum Grey and Pallid Wych Flesh.
