Necrons show their strength! [Wednesday`s Winning 40k lists]

Last weekend was a somewhat quieter weekend with not too many tournaments. But in England there was a major tournament at Hellstrom.

My top five has definitely changed after this weekend. I see new factions doing well. The meta is still evolving despite the top two factions, Aeldari and Chaos Space Marines, remaining the same. My opinion is that almost every faction can perform well with the right composition and a good pilot. Make your list so that you can play the mission well and have the right Hammers to deal enough damage to your opponent.

At the end of the article I give my opinion on the top 5 factions.

Ork had a fun week, but with no top placement this weekend they left the top 5 again. This makes way for a new faction and this week it is Necrons! You will soon read why. The rest of the top 5 remains the same.

1. Chaos Space Marines
Even though Chaos Space Marines didn't win a tournament this weekend, we see a lot of top placings. Mark of Nurgle + Lone obs stragategem is so good :).

2. Aeldari
Aeldari shows best results again this weekend, by winning the biggest tournament and many top placings. I still think Chaos Space Marines are better. However, it is very, very close. If Aeldari does better again next weekend, they will take first place again. Personally, I prefer playing against Aeldari over Chaos Space Marines. I simply find it easier to deal with the Space Elves than with Mark or Nurgle.

3. Space Marines
Space Marines continue to show why they are just a little bit better than the rest but far off from the top 2. Many top placements and many different lists, so these are good times for the Poster Boys. Marines are not good because of their new codex, or because they have a certain unit that are OP. It's simple, you get a lot of power for few points. Yet Marines will not become top tier. It is the army that determines the middle. If you want to do well at a tournament you have to be able to beat Marines consistently.

4. Necrons
When I started doing these top five analyzes I started with a top 5 prediction for 10th. Necrons was in this first top 5 prediction. I had played a game against Necrons when 10th was brand new and was amazed at their survivability. They can also really be killy. The two perfect conditions to play the primary mission. This weekend shows that Necrons can score above average. They are third on Hellstrom and have 3 more top placings. Last week there was a big discussion in the Reddit comment where people claimed that Necrons were garbage and GW really had to make their rules much better. I did not agreed at all. I sayed Necrons can do very well in tournaments. Not Chaos Space Marines and Aeldari level, but that the right pilot can really often win against all other factions and go x-1. This weekend result show my point.

5. Tyranids
Tyranids are just solid. Not a real standout, but score enough x-1 every week for 5th place.
